The Blue Room is a classic Burbank cocktail bar with a vibe that feels like stepping back into a midcentury modern scene. Its deep blue lighting and decor create a moody, intimate space that’s perfect for laid-back evenings where the focus is on the drinks and the company rather than flashy distractions. The bar’s roots trace back to the 1940s, and it wears that history well, with enough charm and authenticity to attract folks who appreciate a traditional dive atmosphere.

This is a cash-only spot, so it’s wise to come prepared or use the ATM inside. Seating can feel a bit cozy, with tables and chairs arranged tightly, which encourages a buzz of conversation and close socializing. The Blue Room also offers a small back patio, a nice alternative for those who want a breath of fresh air but still want to stay connected to the bar’s lively vibe.

The drink list highlights some classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned and Moscow Mule, alongside specialty Mexican beers and a selection of wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon. Prices lean toward reasonable, making it accessible for casual nights out or a quiet drink before or after hitting other local spots—like following a nearby Haunted Hayride adventure.

The crowd here tends to be a mix of locals and visitors who appreciate the unpretentious, cash-only setup and the kind of service that’s friendly without feeling over-polished. Because of its modest size and cool retro feel, The Blue Room works best as a chill stop to unwind with a carefully made cocktail. Even on Saturday nights, it avoids feeling overly packed, allowing for real conversation and interaction.

Overall, it’s a place for those who enjoy the ritual of classic drinks in a setting that feels lived-in and genuine, rather than tailored for trend. If you’re in Burbank and looking for a cocktail bar that’s steady, welcoming, and a little bit of a throwback, The Blue Room fits quietly into that niche.

A stellar cash-only dive bar that seems to get it's own share of action. I was on a date and we came after hitting the Haunted Hayride about 7 min away. I'm pretty sure I was about to get hit on by two women but after grabbing my date's hand on the way out, I heard one say to the other "oh, he's on a date". Weird but oddly felt ordinary from a place like this. I remember overhearing a woman say "I love being married!" then leave the place with someone I'm sure wasn't her husband. They have a big liquor selection and a Wi-Fi type jukebox to play whatever you want. The blue booths stand out and the whole theme of the place reminds me of a ship anchored to a port, it's like you stepped into a Captain's ship. I like that they have a food truck outside so if you get hungry they allow you to bring food in while you drink. The bathroom was clean and out of paper towels but luckily I saw the bartender going into the stock room, so i told him and he thanked me and changed it right away. Good place to stop and get a drink.

Cash only! There's an ATM inside in case you need it. We stopped by here to kill some time before we had to fly out. Great spot to chill inside where it's laid back and has AC. Restrooms were a bit of a tight space but it makes sense considering that this this dive bar is from the 1940s. Plenty of spots to sit but the tables and chairs can also be a bit of a tight space as well. There's a jukebox for music and a TV you can watch sports on. Drinks were fairly priced and strong enough to give a slight buzz before we headed out to the airport. Bartender was very friendly and told my husband some history of the the bar. They have live music during the weeknights, which is pretty cool. Stevie Wonder had performed here last year and this bar has been used in a few movies too. There is a parking lot in the back so two different entrances to get inside. It's worth checking out if you love dive bars. We'd come back again.

Thank you for being a cash only bar! The rest of this town is skimping out by being card only! I agree that yours is a classic joint! Keep it up.

First time to experience this Burbank dive bar and I would be a regular here if I lived in the area. It’s like stepping into a mid-century modern movie set from the 1960’s. Everything is blue, the lighting, the seats. Drinks are not overly pricey. They do have a back patio if you are looking for that. Very clean and not crazy crowded on a Saturday. The bartenders and patrons and very nice and lively. That vintage neon sign out front sets the tone for the whole experience. I really had a great experience with my friends here. Fun times!

Step into The Blue Room, a legendary cocktail lounge that has been around since 1947. This classic dive bar offers an impressive selection of liquors and cold beers, along with an accommodating staff and an AMI Jukebox that adds to the ambiance. Make sure to bring cash, as this bar doesn't accept credit or debit cards, but the experience is well worth it. There is an ATM in the back. #TheBlueRoom #DiveBar #burbank #classiccocktaillounge
